Gemma Cox

Specialist Support / Assessor

Gemma is a fully qualified specialist teacher who teaches Maths and English to children aged 6 to 11 and has been with the Fulham Study Group for over three years.

During this time, she has assisted many children to reach their potential and get into their chosen schools.

Amongst other qualifications, such as a university degree in sociology and the CELTA certificate in teaching English as a foreign language, Gemma achieved a distinction for the Level 5 Diploma in teaching children with dyslexia and other learning difficulties at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre along with a distinction for the Level 7 Diploma, which has enabled her to assess children’s learning difficulties and understand dyslexia at a deeper level.

During the day, Gemma works as a tutor for trainee SEN teachers at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre and gives one to one support to children with learning difficulties at St James Junior School.

This on-going professional development has ensured that Gemma’s students really benefit academically and gain in confidence in their studies, whilst Gemma continues to find working with children a rewarding and inspiring experience.
